Anti Virus & Anti Spyware Requirements

In order to utilize our Ethernet we require that you have and run recognized Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware software.  Our networks are open, so you may also want to run a personal firewall.  Some options and sources are listed below.

Anti Virus software options:

If you already have one of these installed, please make sure that it is updated and running. 

• SOPHOS
• AVG from Grisoft
• House Call from Trend Micro

Anti Spyware software options:

• Windows Defender by Microsoft
• Ad-Aware Personal SE from Lavasoft
• Spybot Search & Destroy from Safer Networking

U of A offered software options:

For UofA students, the University has Site Licensed no cost software with use of your UA netID.

• Sophos Anti-Virus
• Counterspy Anti-Spyware
• Kerio Personal Firewall
